Today was a productive sort of day.
I realized that if I'm going to make any sort of progress in this business venture, that the first thing I ought to do is wade in and clear out the random and miscellaneous schmutz that has taken over every corner of the house. So, protective headgear in place and trash bags and laundry baskets in hand, I attacked my bedroom first.
It amazes me that two reasonable and relatively right-minded adults can have collected so much junk, and also put it in such odd places. For example: why was there a Slip & Slide in the bedroom? I don't know, and I don't think I want to try and figure out the rationale behind this storage decision. Anyway, I sorted piles and threw away trash and folded clothes and dug my way out from beneath the towering pile of laundry ... and I now have a bedroom in place of the Death Star's trash compactor. Tomorrow I will attempt to reclaim the house, and wrest the guest room back from the kids and their Legos.
Other than that, I have been fiddling with this blog, setting up my Etsy shop (which will be up and running ... soon) and pricing new sewing machines, which is (for me, anyway) really exciting. I'm on my second sewing machine now, but it's really only for personal use, over 15 years old, and dang, but those new models sure are purty! My machine has had a good life, has been a loyal and good companion, but I really do think it's time I took it to an isolated field somewhere and shot it.
So, that's that. As scintillating and edge-of-your-seat as this all was, at least I'm not talking about my collection of potatoes that look like celebrities or how I really think my cat can read my thoughts ... I have to leave something for next time, don't I?
